Harbeth M30.2 verbluft The Audiophiliac - Steve Guttenberg - The Audiophiliac - geeft in een review op cnet.com zijn mening over de M30.2 40th Anniversary.
Hij noemt de luidsprekers 'luxury objects' met hun prachtige Silver Aucalyptus fineer.
Meer kleur, meer complexiteit, meer substantie...
Dit zijn zaken die ons ook opvallen aan de M30.2, maar eigenlijk aan iedere Harbeth speaker. Waar veel moderne speakers het middengebied 'uithollen' en het hoog benadrukken voor een imitatie van detail, geven de luidsprekers van Harbeth met hun open en gedetailleerde middengebied een stuk meer echtheid mee aan echte instrumenten. Volgens The Audiophiliac:"With well recorded music the M30.2s sound yields more color, more complexity, more substance, which is the way that live, unamplified music sounds to me. "
Verderop in het review zegt hij tevens het volgende:
"Where some high-end speakers can come across as sterile and overemphasize detail and resolution, that's not the case here. The M30.2s sound like a portal back to the session. It's a sound you'll want to savor."
Voor de echte muziekliefhebber...
Guttenberg prijst de luidsprekers voor het acceptabel weergeven van slecht opgenomen/gecomprimeerde muziek:"I love that the M30.2 makes less than stellar recordings sound more listenable than I would have thought possible. Take Arcade Fire's latest and worst sounding recording, "Everything Now." I like the music, but the sound is brutally compressed and mechanical, yet somehow the M30.2s let me get past that. It released the music that had been buried in the mix, while with most other speakers I can't get past "Everything Now's" wretched sonics. "
Als conclusie zegt The Audiophiliac het volgende:
"The Harbeth Monitor 30.2 40th Anniversary Edition is a music lover's speaker. "
